So Many Tours, So Little Time

Just when we think we’ve got it all planned out, they go and switch it up on us again. Only, with the tours of our favorite performers, this is usually a good thing.  Many of the top tours in the country right now are experiencing huge sellouts and great feedback from the road, prompting more tour dates and lengthened runs in order to fulfill an adoring public’s hunger. First up, we take Owl City, otherwise known as 23 year old Adam Young, who has raged out onto the music scene, completely sold out his first tour booking, and has added an entire other leg, which will begin in January of 2010.

Sister duo Tegan and Sara are finishing up their home tour stint in Canada before freshening up for the extended U.S. tour dates, backed by popular demand, to begin on February 12th, 2010. The country runaway success Zac Brown Band has just set out on the road for an extended tour stint which begun on October 15th and will run straight through to December 27th, ending at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee.

Less Than Jake is planning a November kickoff of a two week North American tour which starts from Baltimore, Maryland on the 14th and winds down on the 28th from Murray, Utah. One of these dates is scheduled for our neighbors to the north, the kindly folks of Montreal, Quebec.

Planning a boom across the Midwest also in November is Hinder, kicking off from Columbia, Missouri on the 13th and wrapping it up from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on December 4th of this year. Finally, but certainly not least, A Wilhelm Scream has announced intentions of extending their North American tour, fully in swing and scheduled for closure on October 30th, with a few dates which have the tour ending around the first week in November, so far.

American Saturday Nights With Brad Paisley

Fans are in a bit of a tangent at present, because the American Saturday Night Tour is set to end within the next couple of weeks. Sold out shows and heavy demand, however, have impressed upon Brad Paisley the need to extend his live tour, taking a small break over the holiday season and hitting the road again during early 2010. See what a little bit of persistence and speaking your mind can do, fans?  The current leg of the tour started back in June and is set for its final show on October 15th at the Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida.

A short downtime stint will refresh the singer, his band and crew, for a re-boost of the tour beginning on January 7th from the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas. From here, he and the gang will twang their way through the southern states before ending once again on March 6th from the Coliseum in North Charlestown, South Carolina. There are a total of 19 dates added to the itinerary for this extension of the Saturday Night Tour, signaling the success of not only the June release of his latest album by the same name, but of his performance and live appeal as the next up-and-coming country music legend.

Set to open for Paisley during this extension are the young Ms. Miranda Lambert and one Justin Moore. The original tour set near-record ticket sales for all 50 shows, some of which are already sold yet though not yet performed. A tour extension has got to be some of the best news that an artist can ever hear while on the road, weary and exhausted from 4 solid months of stage stress. Thus as the rigors of fame, and at least he knows how loved he is.

The 12 Days Of Christmas Just Got A Bit More Exciting For Jonas Brothers Fans

This wonder band formed out of New Jersey after a solo stint by the eldest of the brothers, Nick, caught attention and birthed a Columbia Records recording contract. Nick and Joe were both Broadway actors before Nick’s single Joy to the World- A Christmas Prayer took hold of the Christian radio audience and prompted attention from major producers and labels. A short yet sweet stint with Disney would lead the three brothers from separate talents to a rock-solid act that has sold over 8 million records since early 2006.

The 12 Days of Christmas Tour is coming off of the World Tour 2009 stint, and is slated to start on December 12th from the Bank Atlantic Center in Sunrise, Florida. There will be two more performances for the Jonas Brothers in Florida before they head off to  the BI-LO Center in Greenville, South Carolina on December 5th. From here, the three rock stars will hit Virginia and Maryland, heading northward up the eastern seaboard until they reach New York for two shows.

The 360 Tour: U2

The 360 Tour is a world event, and one of the largest to hit these lucky venues in years. With the North American leg of the tour upon us, dates and schedules have been a bit lose and unorganized of late, but this band is not into disappointing their fans, so be sure that you are ready when these four Irish lads hit a stage near you. Promoting the No Line on the Horizon album is a tough job, but somebody’s got to do it.

This tour differs dramatically from the concerts that U2 have put together for fans in the past. The 360 quip is actually taken from the way in which this tour is designed, placing the band on a center, round stage for better exposure to the audience. There are more front row seats available with this configuration, and all standing room is closer than that of the typical front facing venue.

Rumors that this worldwide tour has yet to turn a profit don’t seem to be killing U2’s spirits or performances, and thus far, the concerts have gone off without a hitch. Sold out arenas and millions of merchandise sales call to question these reports, and yet the show reportedly costs more to set up, perform, and dismantle than the band pulls in each night.

Tour dates have been extended for the American leg of the tour, and the band will be performing here between September 12th and October 28th. The tour will head over to Canada for two shows before landing and a long rest. U2 will also be back in America during June and July of 2010 for more performances. Rob Zombie Brings A Hellbilly Good Time Back To The Masses

Mr. Zombie was born Robert Bartleh Cummings in 1965, though he may just be a bit irritated at the mere mention of that fact. Rob founded the band White Zombie in 1985, and the four members begun a journey which would find them easily identifiable amidst the heavy metal sounds of that era. White Zombie lyrics were never about people, love, money, or hope. This band centered their entire existence on the supernatural realms of fantasy.

Rob Zombie decided to go solo in 1998, and the only member of the original group to sign on with Zombie’s new band was the drummer, John Tempesta. Meanwhile, Rob continued to work on his screenwriting and production talents, finally releasing his debut film House of 1,000 Corpses in 2003, after a four year production process. The Devils Rejects would follow up this first effort, and would be received much more enthusiastically by both critics and the box office.

Zombie completed a remake of Halloween, which has grossed his highest earnings as a filmmaker yet, and its sequel, Halloween II, and also worked closely with Quentin Tarantino before heading back over to his first passion, music. Halloween is hitting the theatres this creepy fall holiday season, and Rob won’t be around for the much awaited release. Enter: The Hellbilly Deluxe II Tour, 2009.

The journey is set to kick off on October 29th from the Dodge Theatre in Phoenix, AZ, hitting 28 venues across the US in just five weeks. There will be a Halloween spectacular performance at the Hollywood Palladium in Hollywood, CA on October 31st, and the tour will end at the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. on December 5th.  Get your Rob Zombie tickets for all of these events at

The Collapse And Recovery Of Leonard Cohen On Tour

The date was September 18th, the venue Velodromo Luis Puig in Valencia, Spain. The 74 year old, world renowned performer was up to his same old tricks, dazzling and engaging his enthralled crowd, when he inexplicably fainted at the front of the stage. During an instrumental break in the song Bird On a Wire, which he was performing at the time, Cohen sat on the stage for a little rest, and collapsed.

A panicked rescue ensued as the back up band and entourage raced to the singer, paramedics arriving shortly thereafter. Leonard voiced his desire to carry on with the show, but was taken to a Valencia hospital against that wish. He was treated for a period of 24 hours, and released from the hospital once he cleared the symptoms of food poisoning which was suspected of causing the fainting episode. The Velodromo show was cancelled, with full refunds being offered through the Spain Ticketmaster office.

Cohen’s final show abroad during this tour is a rather controversial though noble one, and will take place on his birthday. The Tel Aviv, Israel concert is to benefit the forming of peace groups between Israel and Palestine. He will then travel back to the US for a short rest before launching a 15 date tour for we Americans to enjoy.

Beginning at the Bank Atlantic Center in Sunrise, Florida on October 17th, Cohen will continue his tour through until November 13, when he lands his finale show at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California. Before Cohen steps foot back in the US, he will turn 75 years young. Anticipation Of The Fame Kills Tour Heating Up After Kanye’s VMA Indiscretion

After Kanye West’s glowing praise and appreciation for his concert tour partner, Lady GaGa, on talk show The View, most of the world embraced him as a man of character who could spot and appreciate talent no matter what genre it was housed in. With his recent outburst at the VMA’s, however, stealing Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech time for Best Female Artist of the Year and asserting that perhaps Beyonce Knowles had been shutout by the young country music artist unfairly, the temperature is rising and the publicity is mounting for this double-header, tentatively scheduled to launch in November.

Aside from this, Kanye West has become somewhat of a legendary concert tour engineer following the high-production, near perfect results of his 2008 Glow in the Dark Tour. And Lady GaGa doesn’t seem to require much of an introduction herself these days, having become one of the most watched, listened to, and respected new artists since her 2008 debut album The Fame was released. Its first two singles, Just Dance and Poker Face, were instant international number one hits. She has two tours under her belt leading up to the Fame Kills Tour, one as the opener for New Kids on the Block and the Pussycat Dolls, and the other as headliner for her Fame Ball Tour.

There are only 4 tour dates announced thus far for this tour, and they are as follows: November 18th at Arco Arena in Sacramento, California, December 12th at Greensboro Coliseum in North Carolina, December 26th at the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut, and January 24th at American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. Remaining dates and venues are scheduled for posting within the week.

No Worries Seattle: Pink Has Got You Covered

There was a stir, a buzz, a downright commotion when the tour management team for Pink’s Funhouse world tour up and changed the Seattle venue originally planned as the kickoff for the American leg. September 15th still marks the beginning of the US tour dates, but no longer will ticket owners be cramming into the 7,000 seat WaMu Theatre. Backed by strong fan demand and the promise of a sold out bigger stadium, the Funhouse Tour will begin from the stage of KeyArena and Seattle Center.

Pink’s last concert was in 2006, and the world has been clamoring to get their eyes on her ever since. Her split with professional dirt bike rider Carey Hart seems to have spawned her most emotionally charged, tender, angry, spiteful album to date, and that’s just what she got down in the studio. We all need some great inspiration now and then, and Carey seems to give her that in spades.

Pink has been touring in Australia, venue after venue sold out and demand never seeming to slow. Wrapping her Aussie stint up for just a minute, she jams New York at the Madison Square Garden until October 5th, and then heads on over to Europe and the UK for a while.

KeyArena tickets were placed for sale on August 29th, and those who purchased WaMu Theatre tickets will be compensated for the change in venue with a wristband allowing lower bowl and floor access at the KeyArena. Not such a bad reward for a little change in directions, huh? offers secure and reliable ticket sales, and is proud to remain up-to-the-minute with news of your favorite events and performances.
