Let’s Play Ball – MLB Playoffs And World Series Just Around The Corner
|
As summer begins to wind down, so is the 2009 Major League Baseball regular season and you know what that means—it’s time to start thinking about the playoffs! Teams that make the playoffs will begin the postseason on October 7th, with the playoffs running through October 14th. Of the four American League and four National League teams that will compete in the playoffs, the lucky winners will then advance to the League Championship Series kicking off on October 15th. Following the conclusion of the League Championship Series on October 25th, the NLCS and ALCS winners will compete in the 2009 World Series. This year, the World Series will be hosted by the AL, who won the pennant in the 2009 All-Star Game. The first World Series game will take place on October 28th in the American League city.
You may be on pins and needles to know who will face off for those final games, but as of right now the MLB playoff teams have not been decided. Even so, there is some strong speculation that in the American League, the projected teams will include the New York Yankees, the Texas Rangers and the Los Angeles Angels. The wildcard in the bunch is the Boston Red Sox. In the National League, the projected teams are the St. Louis Cardinals, the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Philadelphia Phillies, the 2008 World Series Champs. The wildcard team for the National League is the Colorado Rockies.
The season may be winding down but it’s not too late to purchase your playoff or World Series tickets. You know you don’t want to miss the heart pounding excitement of watching your team fight it out live, so order your tickets now from StubPass.com.
