In his newest video for his song Bang Bang, will.i.am takes you back to a time when swing was king and women weren’t afraid to wear boas wherever they went. It’s a video that seems to be set in the Roaring Twenties and it should be. The track appears on the Great Gatsby, as well as on Will’s own album #willpower.

It begins with Will sitting among a brass band. After the band spends some time providing the trumpet and horn accompaniment in the song, they then break out into some hip hop moves, keeping this song and dance still grounded in the 21st century. For the vocals Will steps out onto the dance floor and shows the moves that he’s got, which are also a combination of classy yet unconventional. Joan Sebastian, who’s vocals are featured on the track, joins Will on the dance floor and watching the two of them makes you want to break out into your Jig Walk!

Having just been released in April, this is one of what’s sure to be many singles from #willpower, Will’s fourth studio album.

This year’s CMT Music Awards will be held Wednesday, June 5 at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee, and fans can not only vote on these awards, they can also be in attendance to enjoy the evenings festivities. The show includes performances by Taylor Swift, Hunter Hayes, Luke Bryan, Little Big Town and the Pistol Annies. Jason Aldean and Kristen Bell will host the evening’s proceedings.

In addition, more performers could be announced in the coming days. Aldean has been honored as a CMT Artist of the Year for three straight years and has 11 number one hits in his career, while Bell is an actress with a number of movie and television credits. Among her best-known work is Forgetting Sarah Marshall, When in Rome, Couples Retreat, and House of Lies.

Some of the nominees for the biggest awards include Video of the Year, which is being contested by Brad Paisley with “Southern Comfort Zone,” Carrie Underwood with “Blown Away,” Eric Church with “Springsteen,” Florida Georgia Line with “Cruise,” Hunter Hayes with “Wanted,” Jason Aldean with “1994,” Kenny Chesney with “Come Over,” Little Big Town with “Tornado,” Luke Bryan with “Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye,” Miranda Lambert with “Mama’s Broken Heart,” Taylor Swift with “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” and Tim McGraw with “One of Those Nights.”

The combination of the performances by so many top artists and the award presentations and speeches should make for an exciting and entertaining night, and you never know what’s going to go down during an award show.

It’s a safe bet that Swift rocks the stage with one of her recent hits, such as “I Knew You Were Trouble,” or “22.”

Luke Bryan has plenty of hits to choose from, including last year’s number one US Country Airplay hit, “Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye.” He could also perform the more recent “Crash my Party,” which is number two on United States Country charts.

Seeing as how this is the highest-grossing Broadway musical of all time, it’s no surprise that the story of Simba and his journey to ruling the kingdom is still topping out this week’s highest-grossing shows!

It’s been 20 years since Rod Stewart last released any new, original music. And while other artists may be struggling with personal issues and band’s may be challenged by dissent within, there’s a very simple reason why Stewart hasn’t been in the news as much lately. He had writer’s block. And luckily now, he’s over it.

Stewart says that it was writer’s block stemming from a lack of self-confidence that made his stop releasing music, but that when he wrote his autobiography, Rod, it all came flowing back to him.

“It was probably the longest writer’s block in history, you know, 20-odd years. But it wasn’t self-imposed. It was maybe a lack of confidence,” he said. “I’d sort of given up, let’s put it that way. But because of the autobiography, it inspired me. And I had a lot to write about. Probably I was in the right state of my life to start writing these very personal songs.”

He also says that the process for his newest album, Time, was much easier and much more enjoyable for him than song writing has been in the past. Before, he said, he hated it and viewed it as a chore. With this record though, he’d be so inspired he’d get up in the middle of the night to scrawl down his next lyric.

Both Rod and Time should be considered as companion pieces, Rod said when speaking about his two latest projects. But while Rod is more about his evolution into the mega rock star he is today, on Time you’ll hear about how happy he is with his current life, and stories that are much more personal and revealing than what you’ll find in the book.

With Tiger Woods comes drama; that’s something that’s been proven time and time again since 2009. But as he was well on his way to winning the Players Championship this past weekend, it was still ever-present. This time it wasn’t with the women in his life, but rather another player on the course — Sergio Garcia.

Garcia and Woods have had a very public feud for nearly as long as Tiger’s name has been synonymous with the word “drama,” and they both put it on full display for the public this weekend. After Garcia had a disappointing day on Saturday, while Tiger enjoyed a very successful one, Garcia turned to the media to talk about how Tiger had ruined one of his shots.

It was on the second fairway, he said, that he was on his backswing at the par five green, when Woods pulled out his club and started to make his way towards his own shot. He got the crowd going enough to distract Garcia into a bad shot, and that was the one he made. Or at least that’s what Garcia says. Woods later said that he had already been told by the golf marshal that Garcia had made his shot.

The next day though, all seemed to be behind Woods, as he set back out on the course with a mission. He was here once again to win, something he hasn’t done in this tournament in over a decade. Birdying the 16th hole and making par at 18 was enough to do it, and was a dynamic end to an exciting weekend of golf.

It’s true that drama may still seem to follow Tiger wherever he goes. But it’s no longer true that he’s fallen out of the grace of golf, or that he’s even “back” in any form. What is true, is that drama or not, Tiger is still the best golfer in the world. Winning the Players Championship this weekend gave him his fourth win this year, and his seventh victory in his past 21 PGA starts.

Stephen King and John Mellencamp are going on the road together in one of the most unlikely pairings you would dream of when you consider a musical meant for the stage. But after Ghost Brothers of Darkland County opened in Atlanta and seeing huge success, it’s clear that when two great minds come together, great things happen.

The story is a tale of two brothers, long gone from this Earth and returning to guide their surviving younger brother on the right path as he now raises his own sons; definitely a King-influenced story mostly taking place in the supernatural world. But throughout, 15 cast members portray the story on-stage through music, ranging from folks and blues to rock and roll; with definite John Mellencamp nuances and influences throughout.

After seeing such huge success at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, it was assumed that the musical would be headed for Broadway, the way that so many hit musicals go. Instead, Mellencamp and King have decided to turn it into a concert and take it on the road instead.

The concert will tell the same story as the musical, but will travel around to 20 different cities in the United States, staying mostly to the Midwest and Southeast. The show will kick off on October 10 in Bloomington, Indiana and will run until November 6 where it will wrap up in Grand Rapids, Michigan. You can find a full listing of dates and times here.

It was this past weekend that Derek Ernst wrote a page in his own career history book when he won the Wells Fargo Championship, his first ever U.S. PGA tour title. He wasn’t supposed to win, coming into the tournament as fourth alternate, with a world ranking of 1,207, and was called in at the last minute — while he was on his way to a PGA developmental circuit.  But as the big contenders fell behind, Ernst stepped up for the win.

Phil Mickelson was one of the biggest favorites coming into the tournament, and he remained so throughout most of the event. But while he could hang onto the lead for most of the round, he fell back into the third spot with a bogey on both the 16th and 17th holes. When he stepped up to the 18th, a 21-foot birdie shot far wide of the hole, and he missed the chance to go to the playoff.

That round would see Derek Ernst, who had been quietly creeping up from behind, and England’s David Lynn teeing off against each other. Shaking off the miserable weather and parring that last hole, Ernst took the title of the tournament, but that’s not what means the most to him. What he’s most looking forward to is simply being able to play on the PGA for the next two years; due to the exemption he gets from winning at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina at Wells Fargo.

“The money is money, it will come and go,” Ernst said right after his big win. “But winning and having a job and playing out here for the next two years, that’s what I want to do. I want to play out here, so that is the best part.”

Still, the $1.2 million he made from this weekend’s championship isn’t anything to sneeze at either.

Their stop in Hamburg, as well as two stops in Mexico helped this rock band land in fourth place on the list of the hottest tours of the week. Currently on tour to promote the album of the same name, this week wrapped up The Killers’ international legs of the tour, and the North American run will begin on April 27.

3.) Jason Aldean
Night Train Tour
Gross: $8.4 million
This is the first time Aldean has topped out on the highest-grossing concert list, and he earned every part of that third spot. The fact that he’s selling out stadiums of 60,000 people or more; as well as his supporting acts, Luke Bryan and Jake Owen, all contribute to Aldean finding his way into the highest-grossing concerts.

2.) Luis Miguel
Gross: $9.6 million
This Latin American singer kept his millions close to home, performing mainly at the Auditoria Nacional in Mexico City. He has even more planned, and there’s no doubt that all future shows will be just as successful — and just as sold out.

1.) Cirque de Soleil — Michael Jackson
The Immortal World Tour
Gross: $19.4 million
Maybe it’s the fact that it has Michael Jackson’s name attached to it; or that the show is full of many of his incredible number one hits. Or maybe it’s simply the fact that this show runs in multiple venues and sees many performance within the same day. Whatever the actual reason is, there’s no question that Cirque de Soleil’s “The Immortal World Tour” wins the top spot on the highest-grossing concert tours list by a landslide!

He’s been one of the best on the PGA Tour; but he’s also a player that had never won a tournament. That all changed this weekend though, when Billy Horschel arrived in New Orleans to play in the Zurich Classic. He knew it was his time to win, and that he did. And, he did it with just one putt, too.

The weather was miserable for most, with two different weather delays holding things up at TPC Louisiana. And while you would think that would make things harder for Horschel, it actually worked in his favor. Coming into the second round he was two shots behind the third round leader, Lucas Glover; but shooting six straight birdies gave him a slight edge over D.A. Points, the competitor that was the only one left fighting Horschel for the victory by the 18th hole.

At first it looked as though Points had it, knocking his ball out of a bunker to set himself up nicely for a 5-foot birdie. But Horschel stepped up to the task, and shot in an amazing 27-foot birdie. With a pump of his arms, and a brief burying of his face in his ball cap, Horschel had won his first tournament, with just one putt.

It was extremely fitting, really. Just last month Points had beaten Horschel and Henrik Stenson at the Shell Houston Open, also just by one putt.

“When a player goes out and shoots 8 under and birdies the last hole to win, hats off to Billy,” said Points, who finished the day with a 65. “He’s played great all year. He was one shot shy of me at Houston and I’m a shot shy of him here. It’s just the way it goes.”

Meanwhile, Horschel summed up his emotional win by saying, “Thank God I finally won.”

‘Super WHY Live: You’ve Got the Power!‘ is currently on tour and one of their upcoming stops is the State Theatre in New Jersey. While in town this cast of super heroes will be putting on two different shows to make sure all their littlest fans get the chance to find the “Power to Read,” and come and see them live!

‘Super Why’ is one of PBS Kids’ most popular shows that combines children’s love of super heroes, adventure, and reading. Aimed towards preschoolers it depicts the lives of Alpha Pig, who has “Alphabet Power”; Wonder Red, who has “Word Power”; Princess Presto, who has “Spelling Power”; Woofster the puppy; and of course, Super Why, who has the “Power to Read.” Together they make up the Super Readers who, along with the little ones in the audience, read stories and solve problems within those stories. Each episode makes even bigger fans out of the kids that watch and now, all those characters are coming to the State Theatre!

The New Jersey show takes place on Wednesday, May 8, when two performances will be shown — one at 3pm and one at 6pm. Just like within the shows, the cast will dive into a story trying to figure out, “Who has the Greater Super Power in the World?”
