Bill O’Reilly will be bringing his unique brand of political commentary to a venue near you in 2013.
Bill O’Reilly, an American author, historian, and host of the FOX News program “The O’Reilly Factor”, is taking his show on the road in 2013, delivering his own brand of “conservative” commentary and political views to shows all across America.
O’Reilly himself considers his views to be more “independent” and “traditionalist” than conservative, but his views on many subjects remain popular among his conservative fan base.
Humble Beginnings
O’Reilly’s career began in Scranton, Pennsylvania, where he anchored as well as delivered the weather. He won an Emmy for his local coverage of a hijacking when he worked in Denver, Colorado before working at TV stations in Oregon, Connecticut, and Boston, Mass.
By 1986, O’Reilly joined ABC news as a correspondent after delivering a eulogy for his friend Joe Spencer, who had died in a tragic helicopter crash while covering striking plant workers. Then head of ABC news, Roone Arledge, who had also attended Spencer’s funeral, decided to hire O’Reilly after hearing this eulogy.
Nationwide Attention
At ABC, O’Reilly hosted briefs and previews of stories that would be featured on upcoming broadcasts of World News Tonight and as a general reporter on programs such as Nightline and Good Morning America.
Bill joined the King World produced “Inside Edition” in 1989, becoming the program’s anchor after only three weeks. O’Reilly was one of the first broadcasters who covered the fall of the Berlin Wall as well as being one of the first to broadcast from the area devastated by the 1992 Los Angeles riots.
O’Reilly left Inside Edition in 1995 and went back to school, earning a master’s degree in Public Administration.
The O’Reilly Factor
Then, in 1996, he was hired by Roger Ailes to host “The O’Reilly Report” on the fledgling FOX News Channel. This show was soon renamed “The O’Reilly Factor” after Bill’s friend John Tantillo, a noted branding expert, made remarks about “The O’Reilly Factor” in any of the stories Bill was presenting.
Since then, Bill has written books and become a popular speaker in shows across the United States. Tickets to see Bill O’Reilly live in 2013 are on sale now, and no matter what your political affiliation may be, his shows are a must see event for anyone who cares about honest political discourse.
