Bruno Mars Will Serenade Northeast in Late June
Bruno Mars just made history on the Billboard Charts, as his latest hit took over the No. 1 spot on the Mainstream Top 40 radio airplay chart, which is based on Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems. His new top hit, “When I Was Your Man,” is the first piano-and-vocal-only song to take over the number one spot on the Mainstream chart in its history.
It also gives Mars six No. 1 hits, which is the most in the 20-year history of the Mainstream chart, edging out Nelly and Justin Timberlake. Mars takes the top spot among top spot getters despite only being on the Mainstream Top 40 in the last three years. His other five No. 1’s are “Nothin’ On You,” “Just the Way You Are,” “Grenade,” “It Will Rain,” and “Locked Out of Heaven.”
Hear those songs and more as Bruno Mars and Fitz and The Tantrums swing through the mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions of the United States in late June and early July. Mars will hit Washington, D.C. on June 22nd, then swing up to Philadelphia, PA on June 24th. After that it’s another day off before appearing in Boston, MA on June 26th and in Uncasville, CT on June 27.
From there, Mars takes his show to the newest arena in the biggest city in the country, as he appears in New York City at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY on June 29th. For those who live on the other side of Manhattan, Mars will be at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ on July 1st.
Mars is likely positioned for his best year in musical awards since 2011, when he took multiple awards for “Just the Way You Are,” including the Grammy for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance. Mars was also named the Favorite Pop/Rock Male Artist that year by the American Music Awards.
With two of the top hits of 2013 just a few months into the year, Mars is poised for big things so don’t miss out on the chance to see him as he comes to a town near you this summer. Get your tickets right away before they sell out!
Motley Crue Takes up Vegas Residency Once Again at the Joint
It’s no secret that Motley Crue started turning Las Vegas into Rock Vegas when they took up their first residency their last year. Def Leppard was soon to follow, and we’re bound to see countless more come to rock Sin City. In the meantime though, Motley Crue is reprising their own residency in the city, and they’ll be bringing a “set list full of hits” with them this fall.
The band’s second Vegas residency takes them to The Joint, where they’ll perform twelve shows from September 18 — October 6 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. Nikki Sixx started rumors that the band was coming back to play when he tweeted out a picture of a mattress lying on the ground in a parking lot of the Hard Rock.
“Trashing the Hard Rock in Vegas CRUE style…no one does it better than us #HardRockTrashed,” Sixx tweeted along with the picture. However, the photo was tweeted on April 1, leaving those who got the message wondering if it was actually an April Fools’ prank.
It’s definitely no joke though, as guitarist Mick Mars also made his own statement about the residency where he said that, at worst, it won’t “be a career killer” for the band.
If you’re going to be in Las Vegas the same as Motley Crue, tickets are already on sale for these Vegas shows so be sure to get yours today!
The Jonas Brothers are Back! Will they be Welcomed?
It’s been three years since they’ve done anything together, but the Jonas Brothers are back from their hiatus, and they’ve brought a soon-to-be chart-topper along with them. The question is, will it be enough for fans?
First, the music. The new single from the Jonas Brothers is called “Pom Poms,” and is a high-energy song filled with tons of pop beats, lyrics that are easy to sing along to, and danceable rhythm. And along with the song, the boys have already shot a full-length video to accompany the single.
The video was not to be released until today, although the boys did release two very small clips while at On Air with Ryan Seacrest. Surely prior to when the boys wanted though, the entire thing was leaked online yesterday, and you can see it here. The video sheds a newer, more grown-up look to the band, with scantily dressed girls dancing in the bleachers and around the bleachers. And the boys too, not only look more mature, but sound it too.
The question now is, will the song be enough to bring back their fans back?
In a pop world that currently seems a little overloaded with boy bans such as One Direction, The Wanted, NKOTB and the return of 98 Degrees, the Jonas Brothers might not sail through their comeback; but Jonas Brother fans are a loyal bunch, and the song does have a lot going for it. This song will mostly do very well on the iTunes charts, if only due to interest surrounding the band’s hiatus.
This song will probably help the Brothers make a huge comeback; but it might be a case of waiting for the next release to see if it’s a long-lasting one.

First Showtime aired the documentary that was the “History of the Eagles” which, true to its name, outlined the iconic and lengthy history of this band. Knowing that not all fans may subscribe to Showtime, the special has just been released on DVD and Blu-ray, along with a special DVD featuring the “Eagles Live at the Capital Center,” a Washington, D.C. show the band put on during their “Hotel California” tour. Not happy to stop there, the Eagles are also going on tour to promote the release of the DVD, and it all happens this July!

Maroon 5 Takes Southern Swing on Tour in Coming Days
Maroon 5 front man Adam Levine might have turned 34 last week, but he’s not taking too much time off to celebrate as the band will play five shows in seven nights in five different southern cities in late March and early April.
Maroon 5 starts out in Birmingham, AL, on March 26th, and then hits Atlanta, GA, the next night. From there, it’s down to the Sunshine State as Maroon 5 visits Sunrise, FL, (near Ft. Lauderdale) on March 29th and Orlando, FL, on March 30th. Finally, they’ll play a show in Jacksonville, FL, on April 1st before heading north.
This comes on the heels of Maroon 5 seeing a third single from its most recent album hit the top of the charts. “Overexposed,” which dropped last June, has seen three songs hit number one on Billboard’s pop music charts. “Daylight,” joins “Payphone,” and “One More Night,” as chart-toppers.
According to Billboard, this makes Maroon 5 the first band to notch three number ones off the same album since Ace of Base in 1993 and 1994. Nobody else has achieved the same feat.
Other recent hits for Maroon 5 include 2011’s “Moves Like Jagger,” which featured Christina Aguilera and became one of the most played songs on the radio.
In all, Maroon 5 has six number one hits, which pulls the band even with Beyonce Knowles and Mariah Carey. The record is nine, held by Katy Perry and Rihanna.
While Levine is probably best known as the lead singer of Maroon 5, he has also gained a great deal of notoriety as a coach on “The Voice,” a singing talent show on NBC. Levine also recently appeared on Saturday Night Live, showing off his comedic skills and removing his shirt as well.
That showed why he’s been named one of the sexiest men alive by Glamour Magazine in 2012 and People magazine in 2008.
Don’t miss out on your chance to see one of the hottest bands and most notable performers as Maroon 5 rocks Alabama, Georgia and Florida in the coming days. Get your tickets right away!
Avril Teases Song from New Album, asks Fans for Help with Video
Avril Lavigne is expected to release her fifth studio album any day now (some sources were claiming as soon as this month); and in that time, she knows how to keep fans on the edge of their seats. Recently she took to her Facebook page to preview a clip of the first single and, she’s asking for your help when it comes to making the video!
It was last week when Avril blasted out on her Facebook page, “So stoked to share a clip of my new single & a chance for you to be in the lyric video! ‘Here’s To Never Growing Up'” What followed was 13 seconds of what can only be a bridge or a chorus, with a male voice singing “Here’s to never growing up,” with Avril’s signatures “Whoa-o, whoa-o” in the background.
It’s also through Avril’s Facebook page that fans can submit videos to be a part of the lyric video for the single once it’s released. The video can feature fans living life with a “never growing up” mindset, or lip-synching the words to the song. For full details on how to participate, you can find them on the Facebook page here.
A March release for the entire album is no longer looking like a possibility, but fans might hope for April. That’s the month when Avril will release the full version of “Here’s to Never Growing Up,” which was co-written by herself and her fiancé, Chad Kroeger of Nickelback. The song was produced by Martin Johnson, frontman for Boys Like Girls.

Who Will Win at the 2013 mtvU ‘Woodie Awards’?
The Woodie Awards are a highly anticipated yearly show that hands out awards to the most popular songs and artists, as decided by college students. Along with artists taking home even more trophies during awards season, the Woodie Awards are also a chance to see many performances put on by those same artists. So, who’s going to be performing at this year’s show?
Macklemore and Ryan Lewis were some of the first performers to be announced for this year’s Woodie Awards, which will be held on March 14 in Austin, Texas. The rapping duo is nominated for the “Branching Out Woodie,” and are likely to perform either of their two hits, “Thrift Shop” or “Wing$.”

Zedd will bring down the house, closing out the show with his huge current single, “Clarity.” Also just added to the set list for the show are Twenty One Pilots, who will also be performing during the ceremony.
In addition to those putting on the show are the ones holding it all together, and fans are excited to watch MGK and Tegan and Sara, the dynamite sister duo, all co-host the show together. Tegan and Sara are also up for an award, being nominated for Tag Team Woodie.
New Daft Punk Album on the Horizon
Early last year American songwriter Paul Williams set rumors flying after suggesting there’d be a new Daft Punk album released. In fact at that time he said that it would be available in June of 2012. That time came and went and now we’re well into the New Year, still with no new Daft Punk. But, fans shouldn’t lose hope altogether. Disco artists and Daft Punk collaborator, Nile Rodgers, has now all but come right out and said that it would be in our hot little hands by the end of April this year.
Various news outlets have been reporting that we can expect new Punk this spring, but already being disappointed once and not wanting to get their hopes up, fans were hesitant to get excited about it. But Rodgers took to his blog earlier this month to give fans a small light at the end of the long tunnel.
“The next time I set foot in Japan, my collaboration with Daft Punk would have started to hit people’s eardrums,” is what Rodgers wrote on his blog. He’s set to land in Tokyo on April 24, so it seems as though fans will have their album before then. Or at least hear some new tracks from it.
But if they’re being tight-lipped about the release date, the band is being even more so when it comes to spilling news about what the album will entail. All we really know right now is that they’ve switched to Columbia Records from Virgin for this record, and Nile Rodgers will indeed be collaborating on it. For now, that’s all we get until April. Hopefully.
Margaritaville Coming to Nashville
Parrotheads who like their margaritas with just a little touch of Southern Comfort will be thrilled to know that Jimmy Buffet and his Coral Reefers Band will be in town on the 27th of April to kick off their “Songs from St. Somewhere Tour.”
